About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Clinical Operations to lead and optimize the day-to-day performance of our clinical pharmacist division. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across productivity, quality, workflow management, and team performance while maintaining a strong focus on patient outcomes and service quality.

This is a highly operational and people-focused leadership role that requires strong clinical judgment, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to build accountability within a collaborative and supportive culture.

In addition to providing direct patient care, the Director will oversee pharmacist performance, quality assurance, workforce optimization, onboarding and development, and operational process improvement initiatives across the organization.

This role will work closely with executive leadership, operations, technology, and clinical stakeholders to ensure the pharmacist organization is positioned to scale effectively while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do

Clinical and Operational Leadership
 
  • Provide up to 50% direct patient care responsibilities to maintain alignment with frontline clinical workflows and patient experience
  • Lead day-to-day pharmacist operations with a focus on productivity, quality, workflow efficiency, and service excellence
  • Establish, monitor, and manage operational KPIs and performance metrics across the pharmacist organization
  • Ensure balanced workload distribution and operational consistency across the team
  • Support workforce planning, team capacity management, and operational scaling initiatives

Team Leadership & Performance Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of clinical pharmacists in a remote environment
  • Set clear expectations and drive accountability around productivity, documentation quality, and patient care standards
  • Deliver timely feedback, coaching, and performance improvement support when needed
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and inclusive team culture centered around continuous improvement
  • Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, and professional development initiatives
  • Address team challenges and interpersonal conflicts with professionalism and empathy

Quality Assurance & Clinical Excellence
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, including chart audits and documentation review processes
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards
  • Develop strategies to improve patient engagement, intervention effectiveness, and adherence outcomes
  • Partner with leadership to identify trends and opportunities for quality improvement
  • Stay current on clinical guidelines, pharmacotherapy advancements, and healthcare innovation trends

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a key liaison between frontline clinical teams and organizational leadership
  • Collaborate with operations, technology, analytics, and leadership teams to improve workflows and operational outcomes
  • Communicate operational priorities, performance insights, and organizational updates clearly across teams
  • Support development and optimization of operational policies, procedures, and workflow standards

Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in state of residence
  • 5+ years of clinical or operational pharmacy experience
  • 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing pharmacist productivity and quality metrics
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory care, medication management, or adherence-focused workflows
  • Proven ability to lead remote teams effectively
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience using operational metrics and performance data to drive improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
  • BCACP or equivalent board certification preferred
  • PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 residency training preferred
  • Experience in comprehensive medication management (CMM), MTM, or population health programs
  • Experience in a growth-stage healthcare or healthcare technology company
  • Familiarity with EMR documentation workflows and quality audit processes
  • Experience scaling operational processes and building performance management frameworks

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
